Autumn exhibition
I invite you to the opening of the Autumn Exhibition at Art Pavilion Cvijeta Zuzorić at Kalemegdan in Belgrade. About 60 artists, including myself, will be exhibiting at the exhibition.
The opening night is on September 26th at 19h
The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 17, 2024.
The exhibition is officially titled Autumn Exhibition / 5+: Beyond the Borders of Excellence.

The Association of Visual Artists of Serbia (ULUS) invites you to the opening of the traditional Autumn Exhibition of ULUS titled “5+: Beyond the Borders of Excellence,” which will take place on Thursday, September 26, at the Art Pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić” starting at 7 PM.
“5+: Beyond the Borders of Excellence explores the concept of ‘5+’ in a context that challenges traditional notions of excellence. Set in an environment far from conventional standards, the exhibition addresses themes of survival, resilience, and what remains when traditional measures of success are surpassed. This exhibition follows five years of efforts to create infrastructural changes within ULUS, which adds contextual reflections and approaches to the themes that are at the focus of the exhibition.”
The Autumn Exhibition ’24 explores the multifaceted theme of reevaluation, inviting ULUS members to challenge traditional assessment and evaluation systems. By deconstructing established norms of success and failure, the exhibition addresses how different forms of assessment shape our understanding of value, merit, and achievement. Through various media and perspectives, works that critique the rigidity of conventional assessment systems and the imperatives and standards of success are sought, proposing alternative frameworks that embrace complexity, subjectivity, and often overlooked nuances of human experience. This exhibition not only questions what we measure but also how and why we do so, encouraging deeper reflection on the impact of these evaluations on our lives and societies.
5+: Beyond the Borders of Exceptionality invites members of ULUS to engage in themes of survival, resilience, and remnants after transcending boundaries in a context that challenges traditional notions of exceptionality. As an attempt to explore alternative measures of value and success, the exhibition aims to inspire a broader understanding of achievement and transformation through the following themes: Survival and resilience, Consequences and remnants, Beyond conventional measures, Absent and neglected, Metaphors of the margins, Harmony as balance in evaluation, and Holistic approach to success.
Under the extraordinary circumstances in which this year’s Autumn Exhibition is being held, without an Artistic Council, the works were selected by the members of the last Artistic Council, Maja Simić and Ivana Milev, as well as the independent curator and art critic Maja Ćirić, who assisted in conceptualizing and preparing the call for participation in the Autumn Exhibition.
